Akari Software is a highly successful company that provides a suite of software solutions to help Higher Education Institutions transform their approach to Curriculum Design and Management.

Our people are passionate about their work and their clients. The main team is based in Cork, Ireland with remote employees in multiple locations.

With the growth of our customer base in the Asia Pacific Region, and an increasing need to provide professional services, we now need a Business Analyst (Technical) to deliver multiple customer implementation projects in Australia and New Zealand.

This is a remote working position with the successful candidate largely working from home and for periods at customer sites.

What we need:

  • A Technical Business Analyst with the ability to clearly and concisely gather, interpret, analyse, plan and communicate complex requirements
  • A self-starter, self-manager, highly driven with a willingness to make decisions as appropriate and work with minimal supervision.
  • A strong technically minded person with the ability to prioritise workload and work on multiple projects at the same time.
  • A person with a passion to get to the bottom of an issue through root cause analysis using strong stakeholder management skills.
  • An analyst with a solid understanding of Project Management techniques and strong experience of modern software development technologies and methodologies.
  • The ability to work both remotely and as part of a global team.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.



  • Must have the right to live and work in Australia
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Strong analytical skills and aptitude for problem identification and resolution.
  • Strong Database experience – with comprehensive SQL scripting experience
  • Proven Requirements gathering, analysis and specification development experience
  • Customer focused with a strong ability to engage in a consultative and collaborative manner with Akari Clients
  • Proven ability to work on large and complex projects
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with remote teams in different time zones
  • Must be willing and able to travel regularly (International and Domestic).
  • Strong business engagement and stakeholder management skills
  • Must be flexible and able to adopt a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to estimate and articulate personal capacity in planning
  • Demonstrated ability to call out blockers and deliver to expectations



  • A passion for documentation and knowledge sharing in every single endeavour
  • Some experience of working with AWS
  • Experience of using JIRA and other Atlassian tools
  • Experience of working in/with the Higher Education sector

Some duties will include (but not limited to)

  • Work as part of the Professional Services team in the overall delivery of solutions.
  • Facilitate business and technical workshops with key stakeholders to develop requirements.
  • Work with the Project Manager and Internal Stakeholders to analyse, prioritise and document customer requirements.
  • Implement standard functional configuration of software instances.
  • Tailor configuration of software instances to fit customer requirements.
  • Work with technical teams to support the development of technical requirements.
  • Work within Client Project Teams to rollout out the solution
  • Perform system testing and support User Acceptance Testing.
  • Support change requirements through accurate impact analysis and change specifications.
  • Contribute effectively to business process improvement initiatives.

Important notice:

  • Location: Australia (negotiable on State – preferably New South Wales/Victoria)
  • Must be willing and able to travel Domestically (reside close to an airport)
  • Must be willing and able to travel Internationally (Ireland, UK and (occasionally) New Zealand, Malaysia or elsewhere as required)
  • Only candidates with rights to live and work in Australia will be considered for this role.
  • This role requires a commitment to a two month training period at our Irish Headquarters

Salary: Negotiable – Market related salary DOE
