Course Builder is designed to provide a single comprehensive solution for all aspects of education course provision. Meeting the needs of higher and further education it is in accordance with the requirements of the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).

The Course Builder software suite provides::

  • Embedded support for quality enhancement processes
  • Course and module builder tools
  • Course and module delivery manager
  • Course publication and promotion tools
  • Support for corporate management information systems (MIS), decision support systems (DSS) and reporting requirements
Having course modules developed and approved to the correct standards and methodologies, along with a managed and transparent approval process allows the Higher Education Institution to administer the development of Programmes in an effective and efficient manner.

Following the pre approval of the development of a Programme, HEIs can use the Course Builder software suite to effectively manage the process of Programme development. Existing modules can either be reused or edited to form new modules. New modules can be developed. These modules can then be combined to present the proposed Programme to the relevant internal and external bodies for approval. As the Course Builder software suite is web based inputs can be made from any location, work can be shared and supervised in a secure manner from any authorised address by the authorised user.

As educational organisations move towards the ECTS the Course Builder software suite helps organisations achieve that goal. For example, a requirement for ECTS certification is that the organisation publishes online their list of Programmes (courses) and modules for prospective students; the Course Builder software suite features an integrated, customisable website that lists all approved and published Programmes and Courses for the organisation.

There are 4 parts to the Course Builder software suite –

  • the “Module Data Capture Tool”
  • the “Programme Data Capture Tool”
  • the “Administration and Reports” section and
  • the public-facing “Book of Modules” website.
