Professional Services Consultant

Akari Software is expanding the team and we are seeking exceptional talent across the UK and Ireland.  We are seeking Professional Services Consultants to join our team.

You might have a background in one or more of the following areas:

Higher Education Administration

With potentially experience in the following areas - quality management, curriculum data, assessment, progression or awards

  • Experience of student management systems or other higher education software solutions
  • Experience as a Software Implementation or Professional Services Consultant in the higher education sector
  • Experience of business process analysis, design and/or project management, coordination and delivery.

  • Work as part of the Professional Services Implementation team
  • Perform project discovery and business process reviews to support project design activities
  • Facilitate business process and product application workshops with key stakeholders to assess and analyse and develop business process requirements
    • To obtain stakeholder buy-in
    • To elicit business requirements
    • To provide recommendations, guidance and good practice approaches to curriculum design and business processes
  • Liaise with the customer and other members of the Professional Services team to confirm requirements
  • Document business process requirements and non-functional requirements, including testing approaches and acceptance criteria
  • Work closely with business analysis and quality assurance teams in the overall delivery of solutions
  • Work with the Product Owner and Software Development Manager to analyse, prioritise and document customer requirements
  • Implement standard functional configuration of software instances
  • Tailor configuration of software instances to meet customer requirements
  • Work with technical teams to support the development of technical requirements
  • Perform system testing and support user acceptance testing
  • Support change requirements through accurate impact analysis and change specifications
  • Contribute effectively to business process improvement initiatives
  • Identify and input into ongoing enhancements of the product suite to support the evolution of customer business requirements
  • Develop, build and maintain positive customer relationships
  • Provide a professional service to customers

Some travel will be required to fulfil the requirements of this role as services to customers are delivered onsite as well as on an offsite basis. Role may be based in Cork or home-based within the UK. 

Person Requirements Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree (minimum)
  • 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • A self-starter, highly driven and willingness to make decisions as appropriate
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work on multiple projects at the same time
  • Experience of working in teams (including distributed/virtual teams)
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to clearly and concisely gather, interpret, analyse, plan and communicate complex business requirements
  • Experience of modern software development technologies and methodologies


  • Experience of working in an agile development environment
  • Experience of using JIRA and other Atlassian tools
  • Experience of working in/with the Higher Education sector
  • Experience of delivery in software projects
  • Consultancy experience

Terms and Conditions


Location:  Cork, Ireland, (or homebased in UK) travel to UK (Ireland) and (occasionally) Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Middle East or elsewhere as required
