Business Analyst (Technical)


We’re looking to grow our team as we expand our product set and customer base. With the growth of our customer base in the Asia Pacific Region, and an increasing need to provide professional services, we now need a Business Analyst (Technical) to deliver multiple customer implementation projects in Australia.

What we need:

A self-starter, highly driven and willingness to make decisions as appropriate and work with minimal supervision. A strong technically minded person with the ability to prioritise workload and work on multiple projects at the same time. A passion to get to the bottom of an issue and root cause analysis with strong stakeholder management skills. An analyst with a solid understanding of Project Management techniques with the ability to work both in a team and remotely. A Technical Business Analyst with the ability to clearly and concisely gather, interpret, analyse, plan and communicate complex business requirements and strong experience of modern software development technologies and methodologies.


Must have the right to live and work in Australia - not negotiable.
3-5 years’ experience in a similar role.
Strong analytical skills and aptitude (problem identification and resolution).
Strong Database experience (SQL/Oracle/MongoDB) – scripting experience essential.
Systems Analysis experience.
Proven ability to work on large and complex projects.
Change Request Management experience.
Consulting / client facing experience.
Requirement gathering (Use cases, UML).
Must be willing and able to travel regularly (International and Domestic).


Experience with Agile and Waterfall
Experience with AWS
Experience of using JIRA and other Atlassian tools
Experience of working in/with the Higher Education sector

Some duties will include (but not limited to)

Work as part of the Implementation Services team in the overall delivery of solutions.
Facilitate business and technical workshops with key stakeholders to develop requirements.
Work with the Project Manager and Software Development Manager to analyse, prioritise and document customer requirements.
Implement standard functional configuration of software instances.
Tailor configuration of software instances to fit customer requirements.
Work with technical teams to support the development of technical requirements.
Perform system testing and support User Acceptance Testing.
Support change requirements through accurate impact analysis and change specifications.
Contribute effectively to business process improvement initiatives.


Important notice:

Location: Australia (negotiable on State – preferably New South Wales/Victoria)
Must be willing and able to travel Domestically (reside close to an airport)
Must be willing and able to travel Internationally (Ireland, UK and (occasionally) New Zealand, Malaysia or elsewhere as required)
