UI Developer - Cork

Akari Software is a highly successful company who provide a suite of software solutions to help Higher Education Institutions transform their approach to Curriculum Design and Management.

With the growth of our customer base, and an increasing need to provide development, we now need a UI Developer in Cork.

What we need:

We are looking for an experienced UI Developer with expertise in the translation of UX design wireframes into actual code that produces the visual elements of an application. You will take an active role in defining how the application looks as well as how it works.

Key Duties:

  • Work closely with the UX designers to deliver a friendly customer user experience
  • Deliver user journey driven UIs powering green field and existing projects
  • Solve complex problems, whilst working within a team and individually
  • Develop new user-facing features and build reusable code and libraries for future use
  • Create simple, creative representations of the client applications
  • Ensure the quality of new interaction models, user task flows, and graphical user interface designs through usability testing and user research

Required Experience & Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Proven experience in Software project delivery
  • Demonstrable knowledge of design patterns associated with UI development
  • Experience in the full SDLC in an agile environment (including deployment CI/CD)

Technical Expertise:


  • 3-4 years’ experience as web-based UI Developer (HTML, CSS and JavaScript)

  • Expert with CSS Pre-Processers (SASS and/or LESS) and Bootstrap or

  • Foundation experience

  • 2-3 years of SASS experience

  • Strong JavaScript framework experience with Vue, React and/or Angular - Akari is currently using Vue.js

  • Understanding of accessibility and experience in developing applications that are accessible



  • The ideal candidate will have experience building Web Applications

  • Previous Experience with an established JS Framework (ex. KnockoutJS,

  • AngularJS, BackboneJS, ReactJS)

  • Build tool experience (ex. Webpack, Gulp, Grunt, npm)

  • Experience with nodejs and relational databases
